Litten and Rowlet have stolen the show from poor little Popplio
It has only been two days since the starter Pokemon revealed for Pokemon Sun and Moon, and people have already started hating Popplio, the water starter. The water seal/dog seemed to attract neither of the two audiences who either loved Rowlet because of its cute bowtie, or Litten because of finally getting a fire-type cat.
38% of people voted for Rowlet as their favorite, followed by Litten at 36%, and Popplio only got 26%. The gap is huge, if the difference between the first two Pokemon on the list is considered. The only reason for this to happen? Popplio has literally nothing cute to bring to the table. He may be a cool Pokemon, but starters are always chosen based on either their cuteness, or by how much they are liked by the Pokemon Trainers; neither of the two check for Popplio.
It wasn’t long ago when Pokemon Trainers came out of their hiding, in order to unite as one and defend poor Popplio. Some called Popplio a star, while others warned the haters that it might get the coolest final evolution from the three. This can prove to be true in the future, but what if Litten gets a tiger-type evolution? Would any player still be on Rowlet or Popplio’s side then?
We prefer Rowlet over the other two, solely because of its adorability. It doesn’t matter if it’ll be good or bad against early Gym Leaders, we’d still pick Rowlet without any second thoughts. Even if this owl gets one of the worst final evolutions in the game, we still want to keep it with us throughout our journey.
The three starter Pokemon are the only news we’ve received from Game Freak, along with the two wonderful legendaries. Most fans are likely to have a difficult time choosing between the two titles for the 3DS. Both Pokemon Sun and Moon have amazing legendaries, and we want to get our hands on both of them when the games release on November 18, 2016.
May’s issue of CoroCoro magazine is almost here, and we can’t wait for what it has to show us. Let us know the game you want to get, and the starter Pokemon you are set to pick. Be sure to watch this space for all the latest on your favorite critters.
