Destiny PS4 and Xbox One: Bungie talk new update as major player expansion is revealed

The second part of the Destiny Update goes live soon on all platforms

The studio released a hotfix last week to solve some of the game’s niggling issues, while more are planned for the coming days.

Bungie have now revealed that issues connected with networking and gameplay, creating problems with melee combat in the game, will soon be solved.

The launch starts on May 10, there will be no new download needed as the fix was already installed with the last Destiny update.

Discussing the new deployment, community manager David Dague commented: “There is nothing special you’ll need to do to try out your new fists.

“Like every weapon in your arsenal, they’ll behave the exact same way in every activity. Once we sound the alarm, get out there and punch something. Anything. A fellow Guardian in the Crucible. A Cabal Legionnaire in the sands of Mars. Your choice.”

It was recently revealed that Destiny has seen a major player expansion through Activision Blizzard’s earning report for the quarter ending March 31.

Destiny has nearly 30m registered players, a steady rise from the 25m reported back in November 2015.

This is what Activision Publishing executive Eric Hirshberg had to say on the matter: “Engagement is remarkably strong even after the release of some competitive games in the genre.
