Top 10 Ugliest Pokémon as Ranked by Japanese Gamers

Top 10 Ugliest Pokémon as Ranked by Japanese Gamers
Not all Pokémon trainers go for a team that has a range of attacks; some only select Pocket Monsters that they find “cute”

A survey was conducted recently in Japan where a total of 500 people cast their vote to decide on the ugliest Pokemon. The data research site, Goo Ranking, surveyed 250 men and 250 women, between ages 20–39, on what they considered one of the most unattractive looking Pokemon to ever exist. These votes are all subjective, and can change. Out of the total of 722 Pocket Monsters, including the legendary Pokemon Magearna — revealed this February as part of the Pokemon Movie 2016 — here stand the top 10:
  1. Grimer: 99 Votes
  2. Votes Muk: 74 Votes
  3. Votes Weezing: 39 Votes
  4. Votes Jynx: 37 Votes
  5. Votes Hypno: 34 Votes
  6. Votes Skrelp: 34 Votes
  7. Votes Exeggutor: 32 Votes
  8. Votes Gloom: 29 Votes
  9. votes Magmortar: 28 Votes
  10. Votes Victreebel: 27 Votes

It appears that looks do matter after all. Magmortar, Weezing, Muk, and Hypno are considered among strong Pokemons when it comes to battles, but they are not aesthetically pleasing. We doubt Pokemon trainers choose their Pocket Monsters based on what they look like, but we could be wrong.

We always plan out a team that has a range of attacks, starting from fairy, grass, and fire, to psychic, steel, and dark. But this makes us believe that there might be people out there who only select Pokemon they find cute. We wouldn’t be surprised if we came across a Trainer who has Jirachi, Celebi, Pikachu, Minun, Plusle, and Togepi, as their six Pokemon.

If you’re interested in the next 10 Pokemon considered ugly after Victreebel, take a look below:
  11. Pinsir: 25 Votes

  13. Drowzee: 22 Votes
  14. Garbodor: 22 Votes
  15. Feebas: 21 Votes
  16. Magmar: 20 Votes
  17. Magikarp: 20 Votes
  18. Stunfisk: 20 Votes
  19. Eelektrik: 19 Votes
  20. Seismitoad: 19 Votes

The two hyped games will also get something exciting revealed in CoroCoro magazine's May edition. The Nintendo 3DS game, Pokemon Sun and Moon, is expected to be out during holiday season this year. Stay tuned for more on your favorite little critters tomorrow.
