Tom Clancy's 'The Division' 1.2 Conflict Update First Details Revealed; New Extraction Hijacks, High-Value Targets [New Trailer]

Tom Clancy's The Division

The second of two free Tom Clancy’s “The Division” updates will arrive soon on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Called 1.2 Conflict, the update will be available for free. Initial details have been revealed by the development team recently.

It was unveiled that “The Division” 1.2 Conflict update will feature “Clear Sky,” a brand new Incursion in Columbus Circle. An Incursion in the game is a raid-like mission. Clear Sky will pit Division Agents against Rikers. Players are required to reclaim an anti-air missile site formerly controlled by the LMB and restore safe passage to the airspace over Manhattan. Division Agents also have to reclaim supply drops that were taken by Rikers.

UbiBlog stated that the new update will feature high-value targets (HVT), where an HVT officer inside the main base will offer a list of HVTs or enemy leaders, complete with their respective level and description. Players will also be given the needed gear score to engage the targets. Players will only have one chance to take down the HVTs and have to work within a limited period of time.

The 1.2 Conflict update will include the Dark Zone that will cause extractions to be more difficult than before. Division Agents will have the choice to hijack players’ loot. Gamers can head to an extraction rope and cut it, thereby dropping all the loot on the ground. There will be new gear sets and high-end weapons, similar to the first Incursions update. According to Ubisoft, they will also add huge improvements in the loot system. The quality and quantity of end-game reward will allegedly be adjusted.

In the update trailer, the Division Agents and Rikers where shown in a war in Columbus Circle as they try to take control of the strategic location.

After Conflict, Gamespot said that Ubisoft will launch expansions of the game called “Underground,” “Survival” and “Last Stand.” These will no longer be free. The game developer has yet to provide details about the three add-ons.

“The Division” is a third-person shooter, playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game launched in March 2016 and was well-received by gamers, breaking sales records. Although the title experienced some bugs and glitches, most of which have already been addressed, Ubisoft stated that it will continue to enhance player experience in the future.

The Conflict 1.2 update will arrive on May 24. More updates and details are expected soon.
